He went on a camping trip to Catalina Island (California). He's getting older all the time! So I made this card for him to help mark another adventure in his life.
Stamp Set: The Good Life by Theresa Momber, available at Gina K. Designs
This scene is colored with Memento Markers, touched up with Stickles Diamonds and Stardust glitter pens in Yellow (Coleman lantern) and clear (metal chair frames and pegs for tent).
I wanted the fish to look like trout so painted them with pink and blue, a touch of lavender, then spread Stickles over them. I added stickles to the fire, too.
The tent is paper pieced and pop dotted, as are the fire, lantern, the fish and the sentiment.
I cut the ends off a toothpick, then colored it lightly with brown, used Glossy Accents to attach to card.
Add twine at the bottom, and the aqua Bazzill paper in the background is embossed with Stampin' Up Square Lattice.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look!!!!
This is so cute! I love the plaid tent. I have looked at this stamp set, but my money will only go so far. lol I ordered two of Theresa's set this week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful card. Love that tent too. I should try to make some cards with a camping set I have as well.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute!! Love the fish jumping out of the fire. I've been so busy lately I haven't taken time to comment on all your amazing creations but I have been looking at them.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I love all the details--the paper pieced tent, the roaring fire, and even the chairs with the two different colors of webbing! Evan is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteDelightful card. Really loved your paper piecing, and so very realistic on the fires too. Now those fish...awesome. They glistened just like real fish do. Your grandson is sure to treasure this momento on his big camping trip. Great job, and TFS.
