I love this sentiment

Hi friends,

This sentiment reaches down deep into my heart because of the love I have for the ocean. Waves are forever, and that's how much I love my family and friends, deep and as long as forever. I love sea shells, sun sets, fish, dolphins, whales, pretty much the whole ocean! Melanie designed all these sea shells and the all sentiments with the simple fonts for thoughts that carry a lot of meaning.

Stamp Set: Gifts from the Sea by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K. Designs
Card base: Gina K. Designs Pure Luxury 120#
DP is by DCWV "Chateau Lavender"
Embossing Folder and die cuts by Anna Griffin
Flower punches by Martha Stewart

Maya Road gold ribbon
KaiserCraft rhinestones
Prisma Color Glitter
Homemade pearl spray (all over the oval sentiment)
Inks by Delicata Gold and Memento Grape and Warm Cocoa
Colored with Koh I Noor color pencils
Glue dots and adhesive foam squares

I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the exact embossing folder (but I know it's a big one by Anna Griffin). This card is 5" x 7"

Floral Seas :)

What? A sea of flowers? Flowers in the colors of the sea? Nawww. This is a feminine ocean card. Pink skies with flowers and a lighthouse. I feel like making something a little more fussy and feminine, so here it is.

I did cheat a little (☺) ! I used a card base and tole flowers from Anna Griffin, and her little gold premade bows! The scroll die cuts are from MFT. Pearls and rhinestones by KaiserCraft. Embossing folder Anna Griffin "Camilla Lace." White card Neena Solar White. Pink cardstock  was a piece I had leftover in my stash. And I saved the negative after cutting out an Opulent Oval die, embossed it and used it as a frame.

Stamp Set: By the Sea illustrated by Theresa Momber for Gina K. Designs
Colored with Prisma Color Pencils
Heat embossed with Ranger Silver Embossing Powder
Dies used: SB Detailed Scallops 5x7 inches, MFT scrolls,
Embossing Folder - Anna Griffin Camilla Lace
Sparkles by WoS (Wink of Stella) - in the light beam and on the water
A dusting of Prismatic Glitter from Gina K. Designs (which ended up all over my face, body, bed and husband because the fans were on = shower #3 for the day)
3D Crystal Lacquer
3d Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives
Scor Tape

Thank you dear friends, for always visiting
and leaving me such up-building comments :*

Nighttime at the Waterfall

I am in dire need of more beachy type, Hawai'ian themed cards. I am also in need of more ideas of scenery so headed over to Pinterest and found something that peaked my mojo which needed tweaking to make the scene into one that might work.

I used one of Theresa Momber's images of the falls and two palms, then added some grasses, and a few more palm trees by Flourishes. In comes Signo white gel pen - add stars, palm tree & water highlights, and mist. If you squint you might see teeny blue and silver flat back stones in the sky and in the water, a few black ones in the trees.

The chevrons on the layer behind it is pressed from the SU embossing folder. Rounded two corners. Added white shimmer paint to the moonlight highlights through the jungle of trees down onto the water. Instant Hawai'ian falls :)

Stamp sets: Tropical Nature by Theresa Momber for Gina K. Designs; Beach Life by Flourishes
Cardstocks by GKD
EF by SU
All Purpose Ink for Fantastixs #72 Frost White
Wink of Stella around the darker pools of water
Black beads to rounded corners
Set to Pure Luxury Black Cardstock by GKD

Please accept my grateful appreciation for your comments and
kindest of words.
Your encouragement lifts me up in a world that is bent on
tearing all of us down.
So THANK YOU my dear friends, always! ♥

I finally made a little box for the big card!

Yay for little victories!

Remember that flamboyant card I made a couple weeks ago? Me neither. But I didn't have an envelope that size or deep enough to house it in. This is kind of an uglyful picture because I am not a photographer and barely a card maker. However, it does look a little better than this IRL.

It's distressed (and I hope, not distressing), but maybe you can see the dark Paris Night sky ink I sponged all over the corners. Believe me, it's really distressed IRL. Wait til you see the inside.

Box top: (Anna Griffin dies, Heartfelt Creations Fleur de lis dies, pearls and sequins) with tiny scallop edging which you cannot see in this picture.

The next photo is the inside of the upper lid, which looks the same as the inside of the bottom of the box (without scallop edging). I used pattern dp, embossed it, crinkled it up, sponged more Paris Night sky ink all over, then Delicata Silver ink over the embossed areas.

And finally, maybe you remember the elongated gatefold card as it looks placed inside it's box (ribbons Scor taped to back, wrap around to tie in bows. There are two shimmery pearl cardstock hearts over the centers of the ribbons on the back of the bottom box).

Whew. That was a time consuming card & box, but
someone will be happy to get it....I hope!
Aloha, my friends ♥

Thanks a Latte & Thinking of You!!

This is one of the first stamps sets I purchased from Gina K. Designs. I was just getting into stamping and well, let the addiction begin LOL!

I really wanted to send a little surprise to Gina and her hard working crew - this card and a bag of 100% Kona coffee. It's just a little gesture to say thank you, and to try and be kind to everyone - you never know the journey they have had and continue to walk. I also made a little thinking of you card for her sweet mommy, Ruth, who I heard is doing better after breaking up her foot and having surgery. I didn't get to send Ruth a get well card and I had this longing ache to do that - and it finally came to pass ♥

Stamp Sets: "Thanks a Latte" by Theresa Momber,; "Branching Out" by Melanie Muenchinger, sentiment from "Dogwood and Butterfly" by Theresa Momber, all for GKD.
Pattern Papers, cardstock and ribbons all by GKD.

For all you do, Gina & crew, a big thanks!

And continue getting stronger and better, Ruth ♥

Thank you for stopping by, you lift my spirit up!

Countless Blessings

It's very hard to keep focused on the countless blessings the majority of us have. We are discouraged by what we see and hear on the news and often in our own parts of the world. But when we encounter someone who shines brighter than the rest, it helps us to re-focus on all we have.

Recently  the news highlighted on one young lady, Lauren Hill. She has terminal brain cancer and despite this, she fights on to play college basketball however her body will let her. When I saw her, her courage and her smile, facing down death, I felt impelled to create a small, humble, poured-out-of-my-heart card. It took me two days, but it is all I have to share with her and her family.

The beauty of a peacock.

But what kind of sentiment would be appropriate? Definitely not a sympathy because this gal is a light. a beacon of courage to others. All I could think of was that she is leaving a legacy. She's made a mark with her life.

Yes, she is and always will be, unforgettable.

Products used--

Stamp sets used: Stampin' Up "Perfect Peacock," and Gina K. Designs "Unforgettable," Inner flourishes by Hero Arts "Feathery Grass."
Cardstock: Gina K. Designs
Peacock painted with Gelatos and Perfect Pearls with paint brush and water.
Background painted with Gelatos and sprinkled with Epsom salt. 3D Crystal Lacquer over eye, beak, feather tips on head and "eyes" of the feathers. Rhinestones in flower centers. Liquid Pearls edge the peacock feathers and highlight flowers.

After drying overnight, I brushed the loose Epsom salts off, then dabbed Delicata Gold ink over some of the background.

The inside flourishes are stamped with Delicata Gold ink, Memento markers on the flower stamp, and VersaFine black for the sentiment.
