Owl Always Love You - a flip card

Hi dear friends,

This is a card based very closely on an owl flip card by Darlene DeVries. Her video on this card is here:

Her card is so incredibly cute that I watched the video about 50 times? yes, maybe so. It was hard for me to make mostly because I can't learn fast so that's why I watched the video so many times (plus the fear factor of trying a little more advanced card had me in its grips).

The challenge at StampTV this week is to make a creation with a 'hole' in it. Ok, mine definitely has a hole in it. It has four parts: the front when it's closed, the inside left of just the owl before flipping, the inside owl after flipping and showing the little girl owl, and finally, the far right/sentiment side. Front flap folded 1/2 open (before the flip takes place) owl 'without' a heart:

And the entire card, 11" wide:

Each time you close the card, the boy owl flips back to the non-heart side of him, the girl owl and the branch/swing folds, and it looks like an aperture card. Slowly pull the card open and all the fun takes place, truly kinetic!!!!

The card base is by GKD Pure Luxury White 80# (I would use 120# next time). Inks are Tim Holtz distress and Memento chalks and dyes. White gel pen, Memento Bamboo Leaves marker. Martha Stewart Glitters.

Orange and white twine, Sakura Copper & Clear stardust pens, green and white gingham ribbon.

A Penny Roller (kinetic) card for our very mobile grandson, Kyle :)

When I was half way done working on this, I misplaced it. This is very easy to do on 'my side of the bed.' My husband fears to venture onto my nightstand or crafting bins... (play Jaws music here.)

So I found it today and set it on the scoreboard. The cat (the big cat) stood on it, then sat on it while I had my head turned. By the time I moved her off, it was newly creased in several more places. (I love my cats I love my cats I love my cats).

Poor card looks like it's been sat on, run over, and folded up, but I finished it and am mailing it away anyhow. I even made my first amateur video to show its moving parts (below) and you will see why I don't make YouTube or any other videos.

Stamp set, pattern paper and (crumpled) card stock, white, 80# and 120# by Gina K. Designs. Stamp sets are "Life's a Beach" (isn't it though?) and "On the Move" for the sentiment. I just hand printed the letters for Kyle's name.

I saw a picture of Kyle the other day, uploaded to Facebook - so sweet! He had been swimming. He's going to be four this fall. When I asked our other grandma who lives near them to please kiss Kyle for me, all she said was, "If we can catch him." I think that explains this card.

Peek-a-boo Snowman Card

Hi, there!
This is a friendly, happy card, sure to bring a smile to anyone who receives it. You can substitute all kinds of images for different ideas, too.
When you pull on the 'wings' of the card, the big snowy tree splits in half and exposes the entire snowman, the sky, and glittered snow all over. Then when you slide the wings back towards the card, the tree halves come back together to hide Mr, Snowman!!! Nifty neato, huh?

one to help me take the picture and hold the card closed, so.. maybe

I should have used some clothe pins?

But you get the idea! The snowy fir tree covers Mr Snowman when the card is closed :)
