A Koala for Kaden

Dear friends,

I hope you are having or had a good day. Do you recall seeing a 60 minutes program about a young boy suffering from cancer who always wanted to go to Australia to see his favorite animal, the koala bear? His name is Kaden Erickson. Make a Wish program sent him, both his parents and his siblings to Australia. However, Kaden died this last September from the leukemia. I was just devastated to learn this on Sunday watching 60 minutes. Turning this feeling of helplessness into a card was all I could think of to do. If you would like to, please consider sending his family a card, too. Here is their address:

John and Jeanne Erickson
2716 Keystone Drive
Jonesboro AR 72401-8554

Stamp Image by Stampin' Up "Kind Koala"
Stamped in Memento London Fog and colored with Copic Markers
Pattern Paper by Basic Grey "Plumeria"

I also ran a strip of 1/8 inch double stick tape down the side of the image and sprinkled some clear crystal glitter on top, added some enamel dots in light and dark pink, pale pink Copic marker dots R20 around the image, and used Copic Warm Greys W1, W3, and W5 in a gradient light to dark on the left side, and covered it with Wink of Stella. WoS is also on the koala's nose and flower. Tied some silver sparkle thread twine and it's done, ready for mailing.

Thank you everyone for looking, for your sweet comments,
and if you choose to send them a card, "Thank you!"
With aloha ♥
