Polished Marble Technique

This was a toughy for me.

I didn't have glossy cardstock or metallic reinker. Became very tricky for me to complete the project because I had to use fixative spray when done, and nothing wants to stick to that.

Polish Stone with Gina K.

The first photo is just of the polished stone without anything else. I adhered it easily to Gina K. Pure Luxury white cardstock 120#.




The second photo shows the floral focal image, pearls and ribbon - more of a finished card.





I sponged the background with rubbing alcohol, felt applicators, Memento Pixi Dust pink, Sahara Desert tan, Jumbo Java darker brown, and Brilliance Galaxy Gold. The stamp is from Gina K. Designs "Friends are Forever." Colored with Copic markers. Added some pink pearls, brown ribbon and sprayed the focal image with Perfect Pearls spray.

    I love this technique. I used to call it Polished Stone so I think it is pretty much the same thing. One uses glossy cardstock. Your card is beautiful!

    I love your polished stone card! That's a really cool technique and to do it with what you had on hand, is really something. Kudos. BTW, I didn't know that Perfect Pearls had a spray? I always misted with water. Hmm. I am always learning something...LOL
    Really pretty flowers and pearls, also. Love GinaK Stamps! Gorgeous coloring.

    Beautiful background, and you achieved a beautiful effect when you sponged over the alcohol inks. Since you didn't use the glossy paper, what kind of paper did you work with? It's very pretty & with the glossy, your sponging may not have worked so well. Will have to try this & see what happens. Marvelous card. TFS

    What an absolutely wonderful background Rosy, it is a beautiful effect that you achieved. It is absolutely wonderful, I love how you try out so many different techniques, whereas I am a bit of a coward. lol. The stamped image is also beautiful, all in all a wonderful card. Hugs, Jen xxx
