Puppy Love

Aloha dear ones,

Have you heard of the My Favorite Things Super Star Challenges going on? I thought we had more time, but I will try to enter a CAS style. They also have a Coloring as well as Innovation Challenges. Alas, 3 hours more left. You know how hard a time I have to keep something CAS. My brain and hands start itching if I stop too soon lol! Did you get to play along this year?

Here is the link: My Favorite Things Annual Super Star Challenges!

Stamp Set: My Favorite Things "You Have My Heart"
Color Pencils (Prismacolor this time)
Clear and Bronze Embossing Powders; Kraft Cardstock.

Keeping it CAS -- that, in itself, is a challenge.
Mahalo for taking a peek at it!

Autumn in Montana

Aloha!

Not us -- one of our daughters. She moved to Montana, loves the country life and is looking for a house. I've been thinking of what kind of card to send her when I saw this design by Angie Blom at Unity Stamps. Our daughter loves coffee and we'll tuck a gift card to Starbucks in here.

This is a photo of our daughter, Amy. It's about 5 years old or so but I can't find a more recent one. They're likely in my phone. She's our youngest and is 36. Wipe the tears from my eyes - how did all the time fly so fast?

Amy has a new beau after her husband died a few years ago. It was so unexpected during heart surgery. We are still and will always miss such a generous, kind and intelligent man.  But after several years, we are so happy she has a new love in her life and wish them the very, very best.

I couldn't get the hair color right with the color pencils but right now her hair is a little shorter - I think she might like this! I layered three of the sentiments together.

Stamp Set: "Brystl Girl" by Unity Stamps; MFT "Romantic Script" (background)
Cardstock: GKD Faded Brick, Black Onyx; Hammerhill Color Card white
Ink: GKD Warm Glow, Black Onyx
Color Pencils
Distress Oxide Inks and Diamond Stencil
Photo Corner Punch
"Love" die from Poppy
Black Twine, Crystalline Drops (don't you love this product?), Adhesive Foam
Perfect Pearl mixed in water in sprayer

Thank you for taking the time
to stop by and say "hello!"

Ninja Warrior

Aloha dear ones,

I hope you and your loved ones are as well as can be, especially with the fierce flu bug going all over the place.

This scene was done with several Copic BV (blue violet) markers, one B60 markers and one C5 cool grey marker. When you take the Copic coloring courses online from instructors (this one is from 4th Part Copic Mini Autumn Scenes) you can look at your Copics or Sandy's Hex Chart and find similar colors to what are used in video tutorials. Don't be afraid (of this forest muwahh ah ah).  This will probably go to our youngest grandson ♥

Stamp Set "Ninja Mazing" by My Favorite Things
Cardstock GKD
Inks: Colored by Copic Markers; outlined with Memento Black
Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Brush Marker (Oh, it's so fun to see all the glitter as you "walk through the tunnel).

And the shimmer---

Watercolor Floral Etched Background

Aloha ♥

This will be an entry for the MFT Coloring Virtuoso Challenge that closes in 11 minutes lol. So here goes! Rather than make a card, this is a 10-1/2 inch x 11-inch matted wall hanging. I used Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle all over the watercoloring. Just imagine how sparkly it is IRL ♥

Paint: Zig Clean Color Brush Pens (Pink with tad of Carmine Red for flowers; Cobalt Blue and bit of Pink for the background)

Lots and lots of 1/4 inch Scor Tape

Pastel Lotus

Aloha!

What a few weeks of natural disasters we have been having recently. My heart is just shattered for all those affected by flooding, hurricanes, loss of homes, lost lives, earthquakes, fires out west. I feel overwhelmed but strangely, I felt compelled to color something soft. I'm not a pastel person, but it's what my heart moved me to do.

Using Copic markers I colored an MFT lotus flower. I didn't care for the water I colored around it, so fussy cut it out and laid it up on foam. The Challenge is to make a CAS card. This takes much discipline for me not to keep on adding and adding elements - it's hard. This is going to a friend in the stamping community who is going through her own serious struggles with health and now the loss of a loved one.

Here is a link to the MFT Clean And Simple Genius Challenge. You still have time to get your entries in, but hurry!

Stamp Sets: MFT "IB Flowers 3" and "About Sympathy"
Cardstock: GKD 120# White
Inks: Image stamped in Memento Angel Pink, colored with Copic Markers, and the sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Smoke Gray (a little softer than black)
Sequins Pretty Pink Posh
Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen (over the flower and leaf)
Corner Round Punch and Foam Sheet; Stays Put liquid glue

Mahalo for stopping by.
I'll be continuing to pray for all those affected by natural disasters ♥

Thank Your Mail Carrier

Aloha, everyone!

I've been wanting to make a card for our mail lady for-EVER. I don't know why it took me so long. But this will be entered into the MFT Color Challenge 74.

I kept it simple (well, for me anyway) using Copic markers to color in, create a little lawn for her to stand in, and added a bird with musical notes for that little somethin' somethin' extra :) Glossy Accents creates a shiny bubble finish over the envelope, her shoes, the hat trim and her buttons, and a touch over her eyes. The image layer is popped up on a piece of foam.

Stamp Set: My Favorite Things "Pure Innocence" Line -- You/ve Got Mail!
Stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Cardstock: GKD Black and Neenah Solar White 80#
Gina Marie Stitched Rectangle Die
Stampin' Up Gold Mirror Chevron washi tape
Glossy Accents

Colored with Copic Markers and edged with Memento Lady Bug Red

Aloha, everyone!

I hope your week has started off well ♥ Here is a trio of Mahalo cards I made for nurses who took such tender loving care of me. I still have a few more to make, so be "patient" with me LOL.

Pop Up Hedgehogs :)

Aloha dear friends!

Is October almost half over? Please slow the clock and calendar down?

This is a card that took me a couple of days because 1) it's a pop up 2) I have no pop up die thingeys 3) It's like a two-in-one card because you can't leave the front empty lol!!!!

I love the hedgehog craze. I almost added action wobblers but learning when to STOP is still an ongoing learning process here.

Krafty Pooch

Aloha again!

My Favorite Things, Camp Create Color On Kraft is another challenge which I have officially missed the cutoff time, but at least I have one made. I stamped the images in VersaMark, then heat embossed with Gina. K. Designs white embossing powder. Take a VersaMark marker and you can doodle little dots for the background or on images.
Using Koh-i-noor and Derwent Color Pencils, blend the images and then use white pencils to highlight different portions. The white pencil also helps to blend colors. I'm sorry I don't know how to work my camera well enough to catch the embossed white card behind the kraft layer, but it's a paisley dry emboss.

Also entered into MSC Using Kraft (Mod Squade Challenge)

Stamp Set: "You Have My Heart" by Birdie Brown for My Favorite Things (isn't she wildly talented?)
Ink: VersaMark
Cardstock: Ranger Kraft; GKD 120# white base

Peek A Boo

Aloha friends,

I hope each one of you is well, safe and well. It seems so trivial that I am posting about a card in the midst of a world more violent and perilous, but here goes. And, this is day #8 of a migraine, sinus infection and more. Sometimes a hug from friends can really go a long way -- sending each of you a giant one and looking forward to receiving some in the near future.

My Favorite Things has some very adorable images and the Pure Innocence line definitely makes my heart smile. Let's get into this very simple card -- and LOOKY -- it's CAS (definitely hard for me)!

I used Copic markers to color the image, then added white dots along the bottom of her dress with a white gel pen. If you look REALLY close, she is wearing red glittered shoes!!! Yes, I was thinking Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz as I colored this, as if I could click my shoes and instantly visit some of you :)

I sponged some light blue behind the fussy cut image, added sequins and silver thread with a little sentiment.

Wanna Hula?

Just put your hands up and shake those hips!

You know these cards I've been posting lately? I'm not filled with caffeine or extra energy LOL! I've been doing a little bit here and there, saving all the bits until I can put them together into a card. It does help that it's sunny every day, birds sing, and there's a gentle breeze blowing. If we were living back in the gray clouds and almost nine months of solid drizzle and rain of the Pacific Northwest, I would DEFINITELY be needing Red Bull or Starbucks to get a card put together.

How are you? Feel free to share how you are doing, good or not so great, and what kind of weather you have today, cause, you know, it could be better than here, right? #imisspicturesofsnow So here is the card for our oldest grandchild, Sara!!! I can't believe she is going on 19 this year. This is a just because we love you card.

Stamp Set: My Favorite Things "Polynesian Paradise
Embossing Folder: Darice " Floral"
SB Opulent Ovals die
Pretty Pink Posh Sequins
GKD Pure Luxury White cardstock
Copic Markers
Distress Inks, Perfect Pearls spray, stash buttons, twine, corner rounder

Again, thank you dear friends, for your support comments. I will try to catch up on blog visits asap!!! Aloha and HULA!!!!

Aloha ♥

And e komo mai! (welcome)

Isn't this little hula girl by My Favorite Things adorable? I thought so, too! The little stamp set is called "Aloha." I am still trying to build a stash of Island Style cards to provide to a local store :) hurray!

I love the gentle pattern paper and used Divine Swirls EF by Cuttlebug to emboss it. I tore a piece of paper, ran it through the corrugator and sponged it tan and gold. I covered it with glue, sprinkled Prisma Glitter all over to be a sandy hill.

I used Copic markers on the little girl, hand sketched a leaf around the sentiment, colored and cut out. Both are popped up with adhesive pop dots. I REALLY enjoyed using the pale blue silk ribbon and tied it into a double bow. Add very pink rhinestones and Wink of Stella clear micro glitter all over and ta da! Pau! (done in Hawai'ian). The inside and envelope are decorated but I forgot to take a picture of those, sorry!

Thank you dear friends for stopping by!!!!
