Cheers to the Happy "Cupple"

Aloha!!

I want to say Arigato, Gracias, Merci, Danke, and Mahalo (all lots of thanks) to Verna A. for helping me to join the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Group. Whew! Was that ever a bumpy road, but she showed me how to get there!!! Thank you, Verna!!!!

Why did I want to join? I LOVE coffee! I love Kona Coffee. Once you taste it, there's no going back. But it's a treat for me because of the price - I only get it a few times per year, (and we grow it in our back yard)! I just cannot get up to pick the cherries or get them to a processor. But they are so pretty and today about half of them are deep red, ready for picking.

Our daughter is arriving tomorrow from Santa Rosa to keep on helping us de-clutter our decades of lives with raising kids and moving and traveling, and all the little things that just build up. I asked Bruce to buy her a pound of this wondrous Kona Coffee as a little gift to take back home to her hubby. I hope she can stay the full week because we need a lot of help (I'm beyond help).

The card is stamped using the "Coffee" Stamp Set from GKD designed by Claire Brennan. The images are stamped in deep brown ink and the teensie weensie flowers/dot background are stamped in a baby blue. I used the same brown ink to color the white seam binding to match the browns, then added brown and clear sequins. My fingers are now espresso color! I drew shelves with Memento Blue Markers. Wink of Stella covers the sugar cubes in the bowl ♥

Island Dreams

Aloha!

It is the beginning of a new week, and the year continues to fly by!

When the stamp set "My Island" was released from Gina K. Designs, my heart immediately swooned! No matter where we live, I will always be an ocean girl. The majestic mountains with snow, the green lush valleys with meadows and deer, the swaying golden crops in the autumn sun - everywhere in each season touches my heart. But the ocean always calls to me, and me to it.

This is a thank you card for a dear friend who sweat side by side working on our kitchen with Bruce on a very hot and humid day. We are grateful for so many friends!

Shaking Good Coffee

Aloha!

A new week. Is it me, or are weeks flying by like the blink of an eye? Maybe it's the coffee I drink.

I only drink one, maybe 1-1/2 cups in the morning. They don't help me with energy but it is comforting to wake up with a hot, cozy drink. This one you can shake for some extra happy!!

I tried very hard to finish this before yesterday for the STV weekly challenge. Boo. Missed it. My best isn't fast enough. Is there a snail pace challenge I can start following?

If you look on Pinterest (or maybe Google) you can find all kinds of templates. I found this one and printed it on cardstock. It's REALLY large, like 7x6-1/2 inches, even bigger than an A4 card? I didn't feel like shrinking, saving, reprinting, so it is what it is. A massive, giant coffee drink!

I used a ruler and French curve rulers to cut the center of the cup out, adhered acetate to the back, used 1/4 inch adhesive foam and filled it with sequins and seed beads. I stamped some beans and distressed the edges of the panel and used Copics to add shading on the cup and shadow. The cardbase is run through a swiss dot folder twice because of the size. Inside for the coffee color I used distress inks. I glued some sequins to the back and the rest fell to the bottom. There are mini hearts, mini stars and several neutral color sequins in there. Wrapped twine around it and called it 3 days LOLLOLololOOlol! Yup, I'm a slow slow poke.
