Coloring Book Flower

Aloha ♥

Are you into using coloring books? I was trying to hold off as long as possible. But I saw one on Amazon called "Color Calm." The name intrigued me. It's about 8" x 5" and takes color markers well without bleed through. But I won't tempt it with water. This is not a card but an 8 x 5 picture with an easel on the back.

I still cannot find the first project I colored in it. That baffles me. My Bible showed up :D :D :D Bruce had laid something on it. Color me happy. Plus I am watching some gentle hula and listening to Hawai'ian music. Heavenly. If you enjoy gentle guitar and beautiful Hawai'ian singing with hula, check out this link and let your mind dream you are in the islands ♥

I used the Black metallic pen to add the dotted outline

Black and White and Red All Over?

Nope. Not a newspaper!

Aloha ♥ !!!

I love that joke, even if it's still corny. Paper Smooches April Challenge is to create something that is Black and White with a POP of color. Zebras! With a red heart!

This card is fairly simple, aside from continuing to try and produce a "mirror image" using a piece of acetate. After stamping with black ink onto acetate, I have to be very careful not to shake too much in order to lay the acetate onto the card next to the image, then gently press it into the card. The trick to evening out both images to look similar is to use a black marker all over both. It also smooths out any jagged edges because I am a shaker :)

Then use a marker to sketch out some grass/ground. To finish I used 3D Crystal Lacquer to round up and sparkle the stripey heart & eye balls ♥

Stamp Sets: "Zoo Crew" and "Sentiment Sampler" by Paper Smooches

Cardstock: GKD Black Onyx, Red Hot, Pure White
Embossing Folder: "Stripes" by SU
Dies: MFT "Stitched Ovals" and "Pierced Ovals"

I wish you well and a very enjoyable week.

Floral Friends and a Positive Outlook - two more cards for SCS HYCCT!

Hi there,

This is the first time I worked with acetate. After trying Copics (no), Distress inks (no), and a few other inks, I read up on YouTube what does work? Ta Da - Our Humble Sharpies :D

You must color quickly lest you color over dry ink. This removes the ink! I used two shades of pinks and greens, and had to color as fast as I could. I outlined all of the image (stamped originally with StazOn) with more black Sharpie because it no longer was bold enough to see.

The 'smeary' parts in the photo are actually the shadows cast from the image towards the beige embossed paper insert behind it - It was the best picture I could get. It looks so much better IRL -- why is that so much of the time?

Because the corners smeared a bit, (Color Box Chestnut Roan), I stamped lace and florals around the card, then distressed edges. But the acetate is clean, sparkles and shines!

The next card was supposed to resemble "subway art" but I have no idea what that looks like. The only sentiment I have that might come close to that is the one I used by Hero Arts below.

I love the dp which is from Susan Wright for K & Company. The mat pack is stunning.

Thank you dear ones for stopping by and taking a look!!!
Aloha ♥
