Winter Crocus

Many of us have been been grieving in the stamping world over two lovely ladies, Barb and Lynn. Lynn I knew well, and her passing was just a shock to me, leaving me numb and lost for the last 3 weeks. I wish both their families the very best in healing and hopes in the promised resurrection (John 5:28&29).

It isn't surprising that making a sympathy card is extremely hard under these circumstances.

I used 'Winter Crocus' stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers and am entering into their Speedy Fox & Friends Sympathy Card challenge.

First I cut two ovals out of brown and white cardstock using Spellbinder dies. The edge of the image oval is colored in with Sakura Stardust Clear pen for sparkle.

I stamped, then masked the crocuses, sponged a simple sky, ground, and drew in some grass using Memento inks. Using Copic Markers, I colored the flowers, added some Sakura glitter pen in Copper, and topped the centers with orange bling. Stickles in Diamond finished off the inside petals.

The butterfly was stamped with VersaMark embossing ink, painted with blue, purple and pink Perfect Pearls, and finished with clear sparkle bling. Pearls complete the card. There's so much sparkle and shimmer in this card in real life! Thank you for looking!
