With Thanks - The Mod Squad Challenge

Hi there friends,

How are you? I think this is the first time I've played in Mod Squad! Really!

The challenge by Barb Campbell is all about Thanks.  Easy. And I kept it as EASY as possible because, well, you know, the cast thing. These are just cards, no layers :)

These are thank you cards because friends and family do so much for us and I don't have enough. That's a good feeling, you know? Where would each of us be if we didn't have support when times are tough? And our being there for when they need help! So grateful.

Stamp Sets: All by Gina K. Designs - Spring Blessings; Stippled Nature
Cardstock: GKD 80# (I usually use 120# but couldn't reach that far)

Stamped images with Memento Desert Sand; sentiments VersaMark, Memento Tuxedo Black, then Clear Embossing Powder
Colored with Derwent Water Color Pencils: I used a very tiny it of water to spread the color
Background color by Pebbles Classic Chalks
Dragonfly wings colored pale, then covered with 3D Crystal Lacquer
All the sparkles are Diamonds Stickles
Little bit of Signo White Gel Pen

Quilted Card

Aloha,

This card is made for Sharyn's Stitch It Up Challenge at StampTV. I would like to give credit to Dawn McVey at Papertrey Ink for the design which you can watch at YouTube:

Recipe:

Cut pattern papers (4-5 different papers) into 1-1/2 inch squares. Lay them out diagonally on your card if you wish, leaving a 'blank' square space here and there. Use dry adhesive (to prevent buckling) to adhere your squares to your card.

When you are done adhering your design to the card stock or onto a layering panel, turn it over and trim all the papers that stick out from the card with some scissors. Now run it through an embossing folder that has a pattern resembling quilting - it can be circles, squares, flowers, snowflakes - anything with a small, continuous pattern. It helps to give the quilted card dimension just like a real quilt.

Embellish as desired. I used a ruler and a Memento marker in Bamboo, the bullet side not brush side of the marker, and drew double stitch lines into the white spaces. I glued small, clear rhinestones into all the corners of the quilt pieces. What's a spring quilt without butterflies fluttering around the design? Wanting gold butterflies, I used direct to paper method and dragged the Delicata gold ink pad across white cardstock, both sides. Then I punched the butterflies out, bent them, and used rolled up sticky dots to adhere them to the quilted card.

Spring Blessings

We have countless blessings all year round, but springtime brings a renewal of growth and hope. We have lots of dragonflies here and this one has 3D Crystal Lacquer which makes all the wings look like glass.

Clear Wink of Stella coats the flowers and dots and Sakura glitter pens add to the sparkles in the centers of the dots. The dragonfly under the sentiment is embossed in gold. The rhinestones are sprinkled about and the red bow finishes the card. I stamped some flowers and leaves inside the card and am entering this into Gina's Stamp Release Challenge MARCH2015BK, Click on the link to see the cards entered into the challenge, making our own stamped backgrounds. Here is another CAS card. The bird is I don't know what, but I colored it with some Prismacolor Pencils with Perfect Pearls Blue and Green over that.
