House Mouse Lilacs

Short post since this is on my phone. The background is just the chisel end of a pale Copic, I believe Y00. The lilacs have pinks, light blues and violet colors pointillism into the flowers, Each mouse has a bit of blush on cheeks and ears. The shadows are CG 1 and CG3. The sequins are glued with MMM (multi matte medium).

For the House Mouse Challenge this week.

Stamp: Fragrant Shower, Stampabilities
Copic Markers
Memento Black Marker
GKD card stock white, Bazzill Purple
Wink of Stella (WoS)
Pretty Pink Posh sequins

Aloha, thank you for
Visiting and leaving some love!!!

Black and White and Red All Over?

Nope. Not a newspaper!

Aloha ♥ !!!

I love that joke, even if it's still corny. Paper Smooches April Challenge is to create something that is Black and White with a POP of color. Zebras! With a red heart!

This card is fairly simple, aside from continuing to try and produce a "mirror image" using a piece of acetate. After stamping with black ink onto acetate, I have to be very careful not to shake too much in order to lay the acetate onto the card next to the image, then gently press it into the card. The trick to evening out both images to look similar is to use a black marker all over both. It also smooths out any jagged edges because I am a shaker :)

Then use a marker to sketch out some grass/ground. To finish I used 3D Crystal Lacquer to round up and sparkle the stripey heart & eye balls ♥

Stamp Sets: "Zoo Crew" and "Sentiment Sampler" by Paper Smooches
Inks: GKD Black Onyx and VersaFine Onyx Black; SU Rose Red; Memento Black & Pink Markers
Cardstock: GKD Black Onyx, Red Hot, Pure White
Embossing Folder: "Stripes" by SU
Dies: MFT "Stitched Ovals" and "Pierced Ovals"
3D Crystal Lacquer & Scor Tape

I wish you well and a very enjoyable week.
Aloha dear friends!!!

Gina and the Great Divide!

Aloha!

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood ♫ cause I was able to make a card and play along in StampTV Great Divide Release Party Challenge!  I hope you were able to play, too!

She asked us to cut the layers into a piece or several pieces, any way we wish. I chose a simple angle, two layers. I cut a sliver of gold mirror card as a dividing accent (the great divide part) as well as some Japanese gold cording.

The flower is heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then sponged with distress inks. I masked the flower and splattered plain water over the red background. It was cut, mounted on black with about 1/8th inch all around both pieces.

Using the homemade 2nd most incredible stamping tool invented LOL, I stamped the vertical sentiment and then scattered some gold rhinestones using MMM to secure them to the card.

I messed up the first card and lost the second try. Third time? OK! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead ♥

Stamp Set: "Bold Blooms" (Rebecca Oehlers) and "Vertical Greetings2" (Theresa Momber) both by GKD
Inks: VersaMark, VersaFine black, Delicata gold
Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Fired Brick
Cardstock by GKD white, AC cardstock black, SU mirror gold cardstock
"Mizuhiki" gold cording from Japan; Art Beads gold rhinestones; Ranger Clear Embossing Powder
Scor Tape and Multi Matte Medium (MMM)

Thank you for looking!
With lots of aloha ♥

Well, Hello, Gnomey!

Aloha friends!

How is your week? I hope you have inky fingers!

My oldest "child" will be 40 this summer. I still have a few of his baby clothes and they are so tiny! He just loves gnomes - yes, gnomes! Who knew? When I saw this stamp set from Lawn Fawn, well, just "had to have it" lol. You understand! I made 4 of these, and will at least try to make one like this but as a shaker card. The 3D Crystal Lacquer is too thick and probably won't dry before tomorrow. I stuck my finger into it just before the initial layer dried, and that is why it needed a second coat. Boy, is it THICK! It's on the mushroom circles, the belt buckle, the windows, and the cloud.

This will be entered into:
Lawn Fawn, Landscaping "Beautiful Florals" Lawnscaping CHALLENGE
SimonSays Stamp "April Showers Bring May Flowers: SSS Challenge

Stamp Set: Lawn Fawn "Gnome Sweet Gnome"
Cardstock: GKD white 120# base, Bazzill (light green) and SU (light blue)
Inks: Memento Summer Sky & Tuxedo Black (images); VersaFine Onyx Black (sentiment)
Copic Markers, Sakura Glitter Pen (red), Perfect Pearls "Buttercup"
3D Crystal Lacquer (on cloud, mushroom dots, belt buckle, flowers)
Dies: Stitched Curve by Paper Smooches and Cloud by My Favorite Things

Thank you for stopping by ♫ ♥ !!!

Under the Weather & a short story

Social media can be a blessing at times. We can keep up with one another, share our lives, and find long-lost friends!!! Such is the case of Janet S. and me ♥

Janet and I had fathers in the US Army. Our dads retired in the great Pacific Northwest, hers in DuPont and our dad in Steilacoom, both near native American lands, the Pacific Ocean in Puget Sound and many land resources. It was filled with thick, tall pine trees, wild rhododendrons and azaleas everywhere you looked, as well as endless ferns and beauty bark paths through rain forest country and majestic mountains of the Cascade Range. Mt. Rainier was our constant companion, especially when the sun was out (every 10 months or so).

We were both cheerleaders all through junior high. This was in the day when our moms sewed our outfits, we just had to pick out matching socks and make the biggest, roundest pom poms we could. In high school she joined the tennis team and I had two knee surgeries, having done the long jump in track and both knees bent backwards. Yes, it hurt. Yes, they got stuck. She kept having fun while I ended up in a long leg cast for much of my sophomore year. All my physical activity stopped. I ended up in guitar and choir, both sitting down and fun. But Janet and I went our separate ways. She is now a microbiologist for the government and I went into nursing after a few years working for attorneys. ANYWAY....

Janet recently had to have knee surgery herself. I'm sure that 33 years later they have improved their surgical technique and she should hopefully mend up thoroughly and quickly. Me, not so much. But her son just moved to Maui and Janet is thinking of moving to either Big Island or Oregon (she's an east coast girl) to be closer to her family. This card is for my old buddy, newly found, Janet.

The stamp set is by Rupa Shevde for Gina K. Designs. I took GREAT liberty adding to the background, including the wallpaper, crutch, and picture of cheese on the wall because I imagine mice like to look at cheese. I even drew a cast on the leg and gave the mouse long eyelashes. This is watercolored with love. The envelope art and inside card is all Prismacolor Pencils, no gamsol, just thin pencil lines. I love this stamp set and it's a joy to get it inked up! Janet --- Get Well Soon! We need a cure for Zika and Dengue asap!

Entered into StampTV challenge this week with Silke Ledlow -- a SKETCH (I'm not a sketchy type person, but I tried on this one) Click here to see Challenge!

Sweet Friends are the BEST Friends!

I had to create a card for her generosity :) with pleasure!

Gittin' Caught Up

Aloha!

Boy, am I behind. Between life, Acer & FedEx, I am not getting much of anything done, typing-wise or blogging-wise. So let's get this show on the blog ---

I sent out some cards to blog winners, though it took weeks for Bruce and me to sync my abilities and his days off to get the mail to the post office. One was returned so I am getting ready to send it off again, to the right addy!

Thank you, again, for everyone who can take the time to drop by the old blog and leave some love. I do appreciate it more than you realize!
