A Sunflower Hello

Aloha again,

This is a card for a friend for no particular reason than I thank her for making me laugh. I treasure friends who make me laugh, don't you?

If you know who makes this stamp, I would appreciate it if you would let me know. I think it might be Stampin' Up but I bought it used and the lady did not know.

I colored the sunflower with Koh-I-Noor color pencils, and used Gamsol to blend. The background is watercolor.

Other Stamp Sets: Stampin' Up Fresh Cuts (sentiment); Folk Filigree by GKD.
Cardstock GKD Pure Luxury 120# white, Bazzill sienna and Neenah Solar White. I colored and painted on the Neenah - surprisingly didn't buckle.
Ink- Stampin' Up Coastal Cabana, and some sequins, Word Punch and popped up the sentiment.

Thank you very much for stopping by!

Overlapping Circles

This is a stamp by Hero Arts called Overlapping Circles. Sharri Carrol on Day 5 of Watercolor Class gave me this idea. While she did one corner of this image with distress markers, and she did not overlap the colors, it did inspire me to change it up a bit and do the entire image. It took me about 4 hours over the course of 3 days to color this with Copic Markers. I used about 3-4 colors in each color group for each circle, trying to blend all four sides of every circle. The light source is on the left (not that it matters much with this kind of image). Have a headache yet? I got a roaring one doing this, and it makes me dizzy to look at it now LOL. I hate to cover all that work with an image or a sentiment so thought I would just keep it like it is for now. Perhaps will change my mind later; we'll see. Maybe I will add a mini clear bling to all those tiny dots :)

Thank you very much for coming by.

Autumn Leaves Thank You

Hi again!

This card is much more normal compared to the last one! I just let the sentiment, surrounded by olive rhinestones, be the focal point. The pattern paper and bow is enough to complete the look. I sponged a bit of distress ink in Old Paper and also Walnut Stain. I'll be entering it into the StampTV challenge this week, and you can click HERE to go the challenge page.

The sentiment is from the stamp set "Harvest of Wishes" by Gina K. Designs. The pattern paper and cardstock are also by Gina K. Designs (She has T-H-E best cardstock for card bases). Rhinestones by Want2Scrap and grossgrain ribbon is stash.

Thank you for stopping by - I appreciate each and every comment!

Sad Me, Sad Owl

Hi there friends,

How is your day/week coming along? Good, I hope!

You know how you are happily going along working on a project and you don't stop when you should have? Well.... That's what happened here.

See, I just realized a dear friend of ours REALLY is moving away from Hawai'i (who does that LOL)? She and her hubby are moving to the Oregon coast, a place close to where we moved from to come here. Suddenly I felt the urge to hurry and make her a card, about how I really feel so sad inside about her moving away, and this is what came out!

At first the owl looked normal, and all. I added the little miss you flag, and then.... "IT" happened. I picked up the glitter pen and started adding a ton of tears, rolling out of her eyes, added the eye lashes, and I even made a teeny TINY handkerchief, with holes for lace, and little flowers in each corner. SOMEBODY STOP ME!

Anyway, it really was how I was feeling, with a pit in my stomach, as reality sinks in that she is moving away. Waaaaahhhhhh! Do you know how hard it is to keep a friend? They move, fade away, make new friends, and yada yada. I want to hang on to each precious one I have. But alas, life happens and we learn to accept the inevitable.

Talk about gumption, I am entering this monstrosity I mean card into the StampTV autumn challenge lol.  You can click HERE to see StampTV's challenge.

The inside:

(And just in case you are brave enough to look closer at the crying owl....)

Recipe:

Stamp Sets: Autumn Blessings and Sunkissed Autumn, both from Gina K. Designs
Inks: Memento both pads and markers; Stampin' Up ink pads; Sakura glitter pens
Bakers Twine
Cardstock by Gina K. Design, Pure Luxury White and In the Navy; Pale yellow by Bazzill
Flag: toothpick with ends cut off

Handkerchief: MY PRIDE AND JOY -- I cut a tiny square 3/4 inch, scored it into fourths, folded it, colored tiny sparkle flowers in each corner, punched three holes along the edges on each side. Then I folded it up to look like a hanky waving in the wind.

I used a scallop cut out from chipboard to sponge the sky like clouds. You can't see, but all the leaves and acorns are stamped with ink, then colored over in Sakura glitter pens of each similar color.

Thank you very much for looking, and if you read the whole page, KUDOS !!!!!!!

Fall Hills

Hi friends,

Is it fall where you live? We don't really get a fall, but by October or so we definitely feel a chill at nights and early in the mornings. The day time heat does not cook and melt me like the summer time does.

I tried a water color this time and wanted a threatening stormy fall day scene. It will be entered into the StampTV MIUM challenge hosted by Sean. It's very simple, just create a fall card :D

I used Koi Waterpaint kit
Strathmore 140# watercolor paper
Sun-Kissed Autumn Stamp Set by Gina K. Designs
Stickles Diamonds
Label Punch by SU
Orange rhinestone and pop dots, Scor Tape
