Peachy Paint Chips

Hi friends!

Bruce brought home some paint chips from where he works, so I tried to make a CAS card with one of them (LOL), not.

The circles and butterflies are darker peach (bottom), medium peach (center), lightest peach (top). I used Dried Marigold Distress Ink to sponge around everything. The background is a JustRite stamp "Elegant Fronds." The sentiment and little stamped butterflies are from Theresa Momber's sets, "Mountain Wilderness" {I LOVE VERTICAL SENTIMENTS!!!}, and "Sending Sunshine" which has two tiny butterfly stamps in it.

I cut out 3 smaller circles from an embossed white card to place on top of the peach circles. Then distressed the edges of the layer, used a Fiskar's corner punch on two corners of the same layer, and added rhinestones to butterflies and one corner. Touched up the butterflies and circles with Perfect Pearls pearl with water. I do like shimmer and sparkle!

It's so very hard for me to do CAS anything. So, it turned out more shabby chic :D  The inside top flap is stamped with same background stamp in same ink, with two small butterflies on the main inner layer.

Hydrangea

Hello, everyone!

I would like to thank Laurie Morris at StampTV and Outlawz for showing how to make hydrangeas out of the heart paper punch, I just sponged some colors onto the petals and glued together, pinching and using a stylus to make them have some dimension. Finally, I painted a sheen of water mixed with Perfect Pearls silver.

Here is Laurie's Hydrangea Tutorial on YouTube

A "Golden Hello"

{The recipe follows after photograph}
I cut two die cut layers from white card stock. I used VersaMark to stamp the small flower from "Grand Sentiments" all over the main panel, sprinkled with Gold embossing powder and then heat until shiny.

I colored in all the flowers with some Copic markers from the tan group. Cut the oval out of tan card, popped up with two layers of adhesive foam dots, added four small pearls. Cut the white oval, sponged inside then stamped with Hello and curly horse shoe kind of design, both from "Lace Medallion Labels" and added the six tax rhinestones. Used double layer adhesive pop dots under the white oval.

I took some gold shiny tulle, laced it through the sides of the deco label, and tied a bow. I spread the bow into a circle shape.

Cut three round layers out of white card, sprayed it with water and scrunched up tightly and let dry. Opened, sponged with tan colors, painted edges with gold. Added large gold brad to center and made into flower. Glued onto tulle flower.

Used three premade paper flowers, and after coloring and painting with gold, placing them to upper right of focal image. Painted gold into centers of all background flowers.

Final step: Cut scallop, and applied two layers of gold embossing powder, heat set. Placed just under gold tulle to meet the Flourish Challenge this week :)

CAS hexagon shaped paper punches

Well, {stretching fingers} I've been doing some online shopping & I have a new toy - a Stampin' Up hexagon paper punch (feeling giddy). So, after punching out shapes from a paper pack from Basic Grey, I made some simple cards. I used JustRight stamps for sentiments and borders, and a Hero Arts bumble bee stamp with a dab of Glossy Accents on his wings, then some adhesive pop dots behind the hex shapes for dimension. I placed a few sparkles behind the bee for his sparkle trail.

The last honeycomb type card has a double stitched tan ribbon (Gina K Designs), lavender pearls, a pierced label and Swiss Dot embossed panel (sorry I got the date stamp on that one). Thank you Beate Johns - I watched your video on SCS for the piercing around an oval or other shape technique you shared!

There is a simple sweet bee stamped and colored on the insides and backs of the cards.

Hope you try it -- it really is so much fun!

Our 20th Anniversary, a Tri Shutter card for Bruce

Happy Anniversary to us :) We made it to a glorious 20 years.

(We've both been married before, so it's more like Bruce's 50th and my 35th LOL) It's a very long story, but I can't express how joyous I am to have 20 loving years with this man!

The ship is a free digi from the internet. The map panels are also free digis of a world map found on the internet. I just enlarged and printed it, then cut out pieces to fit and distressed it a bit with distress inks. All the stamped shells, fish & stars are from JustRite stamps. The sentiment is typed and printed. It's extremely heartfelt to me, and what I used to tell Bruce long before I knew it was a sentiment.

I painted the ship with Broken China distress ink first, then Perfect Pearls (plain white pearl) and water. The border outlines were drawn with a gold Sharpie marker. I used some Vintage Paper distress ink around the ship oval and the sentiment, then tipped around with Perfect Pearls in gold mixed with water. I used Memento Rich Cocoa to stamp the ocean critters.

Finished up with some gold nail head stickies by Mark Richards and a golden anchor charm tied on with some twine. Bazzill cardstock.

Gratitude Wreath

It's always a blessing to have friends, and I made this for one here on the island. She is so thoughtful!

For Karen Y. ♥

Two more friends contributed to the card. Susan S. - thank you for sending me the stamped image from Gina K. Designs, "Floral Wreath." And thank you to Shari M. for the pre punched lacy border. I'm so glad I could combine both elements from you ladies!

I also used a sentiment taken from the set "Thanks a Million" by Gina K. as well. Colored with Copic markers. I added a touch of green to the blue flowers, a tip from either Melanie Muenchinger or Sharon Harnist -- both ladies are incredible with coloring. I apologize for my brain cells and not remembering exactly which lady said not to be afraid to add the color of the leaves into the flower petals.

Tiny Blossoms

I used Gelatos to color cardstock blues and greens, then the Fiskars hand punch to cut out lots of tiny flowers. Then I used a round end of a stylus on a mouse pad to try and curl the flowers upward. Glued the flowers to an embossed cardstock card. Used an aqua pen to water color with the Gelatos on the bird, then Sakura Clear star glitter pen to highlight embossed dots. The sentiment is from JustRite clear stamps. Oh, see the yellow dots inside the flowers? That's Buttercup Liquid Pearls :)

Let the sun shine on in! I feel some mojo since receiving the latest stamp sets :D (oh joy)

True Friend

I think this image is so beautiful! If I wasn't so afraid to be around horses. When I was a teen, I used to ride a lot at summer camp in Washington state. One morning I got thrown off and knocked out when my head hit a rock. Good thing a friend was riding with me, and she waited for me to come out of it, then helped me get back to camp with the horses.
Another time I was riding in Riverside, California with another friend. Out of the corner of my eyes I saw something in the distance move. Boy, did my horse see it to. It was a pack of wild dogs way off in the distance on a hill but they were running. My horse reared up and jumped up and down and I fell off the back, smacking my elbow on a rock and landing on my neck! I thought my arm was broken as it went numb and couldn't move it. My girlfriend who owned the horses and went riding with me had to chase down my horse while I laid down and waited. Went to the ER and nothing broken just banged up good.
There have been other horse rides in which I've been stepped on, had the horse head swing into my head which caused me to see stars, and more horses bucking me off, even a pregnant and one eyed horse. She tripped in a ditch and I flew over her head. I took that as time to stop riding horses.

But I still think they're such beautiful creatures :)

Mmmmm Death by Chocolate?

Sent to a friend who is a 'sweetie' lady. I am trying out Corel Paintshop PhotoPro X3 for this photo, soo.....

Another dear friend sent me the pink doily die cut (thank you) and image is colored with Copic markers. Inside is "Chocolate" and I wish I had used Memento Tuxedo Black rather than their gray so it would have turned out sharper and clearer. But this stamp set is a lot of fun to use!

Thanks so much for visiting ~ I appreciate it very muc
