It really hurts deeply when we lose our fur babies. I found a coloring page online and it looked just like her Koko. I used color pencils and filled the card with our love and hugs.
And big hugs to each of you, too! ❤️ RosyRosy Newlunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14008237215115496467noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6525087347180509379.post-12691134934048764952023-09-12T17:30:00.000-10:002023-09-12T17:31:07.499-10:00A "Z" Fold Anniversay CardFun folds are just that, FUN! And this one is fairly simple, especially if you have a see- through ruler to make precision cuts in your cardstock. I finally purchased the Stampin' Up Paper Trimmer. It has a very nice blade, ruled table, clear ruler and double raised edges at the top and bottom of the cutting areas to help keep your cardstock in place as you cut. They can get into the tiniest of cracks and do not bleed out compared to alcohol markers. Markers are faster for big images but I wanted to take my time on this hibiscus. There are lots of little spaces. The friend that I sent this to said that her favorite color is red. Doom. I'm going to try and post the cards I'm making but I will keep it brief. I can't rememberwhich stamp set I used, maybe Stampin' Up? 🤥I just love interactive cards, don't you? I miss all the fruit that is harvested this time of year. I haven't had concord grapes in about 20 years. A cat-fish mermaid! What a sense of humor! Have you ever heard the Catfish Song by Jonny Boston? It incorporates a lot of song titles by Elvis. It's adorable and goes along "purrr-fectly" with this stamp image! It's simple using a brushed background, a little stamping, paper piecing (umbrella) Rosy Newlunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14008237215115496467noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6525087347180509379.post-38342019333539303062021-06-23T16:50:00.004-10:002021-06-23T16:56:22.318-10:00Jukeboxes and Elvis? Aloha friends,The theme this month at Splitcoaststampers is Jukebox. Jukeboxes remind me of the 50s-70s when we had to pay a nickel (or more) to hear our favorite songs at restaurants or other public establishments. At home we would listen to the radio or play a record that we bought. I was happy when they replaced 8 tracks with cassette tapes. Music CDs came and went. He loves to fish and to be on the ocean. Each year I try and include a poem about the ocean and faith. Nope, not going to share 😂It's very simple and quiet - I didn't add bling or anything just to let the ship be the focus. Boy, was this a tough card for me 💪🏽👷🏽♀️⚒When it folds up flat it is only 4 inches square so it fits easily into an A2 envelope. It is going to need an extra ounce or nonmachinable stamp because it's thicker than a regular card. Isn't he a cutie pie? I wanted him ever since I laid eyes on him 🐱🐉 Look at how tiny his arms are!And I found this coolio tutorial on YouTube by Lisa Curcio using a fun fold called "Curvy Pop Up." It isn't that hard. The front will have a bendy panel and the back is a regular card spine so it stands up. Even better, it lays flat and fits right into an A2 envelope. Someone had dropped off a female and, of course, it became pregnant in no time. She had 3 cats and they are now all "fixed," and cared for by our neighbor. It happened so fast, in our parking area, and I wanted to make a quick cat thank you card. Whew! It took less than 15 minutes but close enough. A new baby! Babies touch me right here, in the smack dab middle of my soul. I just love babies. They are so sweet, chubby, cuddly, and beg for little sweet kisses. That new baby smell is better than flowers, puppies and new cars put together. Ok, I get carried away. Our friends have a new grandbaby, a baby boy to join his older brother. It's an inexpensive class that builds confidence using alcohol markers without needing to sketch first. Just start coloring on white cardstock. I was terrified but after tossing a couple tries, it started to get easier. I say jump in and do it - you won't be disappointed. It's for an all grown up young lady I knew when she was much younger. We both love kitty cats. Recently I ordered this cool heart die from SSS and paired it with the MFT kitty cat stamp for a simple window card. I put the little cat on a sketched rug, wood floor and wall papered with teeny hearts. Surprise! It's the name and type of die set I used. When you pull the top tab upward, the flap goes up with it, revealing a secret panel underneath. Way cool!I made these back in November or December but just can't remember the name of the stamp set I used. Talk about a challenging year!My husband, Bruce, has been having a hard time with his memory. It took me a couple of years to see it. The signs were vague and not consistent. I thought it was just forgetfulness. By the time I and the doctors put the puzzle pieces together, I was super stressed. I really had no idea a camera could take clear pictures on a phone. This is only the second day I've had it so please be patient while I figure out all the stuff. It's a Samsung S10. Glad to "see" you!
I love the Gina K. Designs Autumn Splendor stamp and die set. I know it isn't autumn anywhere but the sunflower is such a happy flower. I wanted to send it to a local friend to say "Hello!"
I only used color pencils and one gray Copic marker for the flower outline. I love that technique from watching Melanie Muenchinger outline her flowers. Super simple to use theRosy Newlunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14008237215115496467noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6525087347180509379.post-65646889763317585312020-05-04T11:22:00.001-10:002020-05-04T11:23:37.349-10:00Yellow is a Happy ColorAloha friends,
How are you doing? I mean, really. How are you?
I ask because the last few months have felt overwhelming for me. I feel like I'm in the deep ocean, it's cold and I'm treading water. Some days seem much easier to stay up but other days, well, maybe I choke on some water, but hey, I'm still here!
Bruce is ok, just older and more frail. His memory is not as good as it used to be. We have friends whose daughter & hubby had a baby! They decorated his room with monkeys and space lol! Sweet, huh? I had to make a card, so here is a monkey in space!
I saw the Cheeky Monkeys come on sale at Clearly Besotted. Other monkey images just didn't seem to do the trick. Once these arrived, voila! Here is a Mahalo card for the endless UPS drivers who deliver our packages. Boy, have I ever kept them busy over the last few months, and I truly appreciate them. I hope to bake more and leave more chocolate chip cookies in bags for them - buttery goodness despite their new year determination to get in shape LOL!

Well, I've missed the entire coffee challenge again, but I do need coffee cards to tuck into a few gifts. If I had to take a train, I would have to get ready 3 months in advance to try and catch it.
For the little Gorjuss Girl images I colored with Copic markers. Then I used color pencils for the GKD coffee cards. Altogether there are 5 cards for 5 boxes to ship. Now for the test of Rosy Newlunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14008237215115496467noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6525087347180509379.post-24350975875264017872019-11-04T06:00:00.000-10:002019-11-04T17:24:25.140-10:00Kindness Butterfly Shaker CardAloha!
This is a card using a beautiful butterfly die and stamp set from Gina K. Designs. The entire set is filled with gorgeous images and sweet sentiments. I put a link to the stamps below.
Shaker cards can be fun because we can gear them up for little children or for adults. It just depends on the images and shaker bits! I didn't use that many bits for this one though. And I will pick out Rosy Newlunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14008237215115496467noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6525087347180509379.post-10927013080281113832019-11-03T12:27:00.001-10:002019-11-03T12:27:34.898-10:00Foral HeartAloha!
This is one of those stamp sets that I fell in love with at first sight. What's more beautiful than a heart filled with flowers, foliage, berries, and fruit? Not much. Click on the stamp set link below to see this mega gorgeous stamp set by Honey Bee! I simply fussy cut and placed on foam. I'll place a greeting once I know who needs this card.

Aloha!!!
You know how you really want something to work?
Recently, I gave in and bought the Gemini Jr. My wrists are pretty bad. The first machine tore up the die and plates when I tried to use it. The instructions are very simple but yikes. Exchanged it. The second one cut really well so I kept the pieces and made an anniversary card (below). But when I tried to emboss, the machine sucked Rosy Newlunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14008237215115496467noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6525087347180509379.post-33071625139848382152019-10-25T14:54:00.002-10:002019-10-25T14:54:59.885-10:00Flotnar! We have a good friend and each time I see him, I see a viking! I've always told him this and he laughs! So yesterday he stopped by for a short visit with Bruce and me and I knew it's time to get that card made for him. And here it is!
