Cheers to the Happy "Cupple"

Aloha!!

I want to say Arigato, Gracias, Merci, Danke, and Mahalo (all lots of thanks) to Verna A. for helping me to join the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Group. Whew! Was that ever a bumpy road, but she showed me how to get there!!! Thank you, Verna!!!!

Why did I want to join? I LOVE coffee! I love Kona Coffee. Once you taste it, there's no going back. But it's a treat for me because of the price - I only get it a few times per year, (and we grow it in our back yard)! I just cannot get up to pick the cherries or get them to a processor. But they are so pretty and today about half of them are deep red, ready for picking.

Our daughter is arriving tomorrow from Santa Rosa to keep on helping us de-clutter our decades of lives with raising kids and moving and traveling, and all the little things that just build up. I asked Bruce to buy her a pound of this wondrous Kona Coffee as a little gift to take back home to her hubby. I hope she can stay the full week because we need a lot of help (I'm beyond help).

The card is stamped using the "Coffee" Stamp Set from GKD designed by Claire Brennan. The images are stamped in deep brown ink and the teensie weensie flowers/dot background are stamped in a baby blue. I used the same brown ink to color the white seam binding to match the browns, then added brown and clear sequins. My fingers are now espresso color! I drew shelves with Memento Blue Markers. Wink of Stella covers the sugar cubes in the bowl ♥

The Mouse and the Hedgehog

Aloha!!!

This card is for the current Penny Black "Nature" Challenge!

I have stamps I've never even used before and this set is one of them - making myself branch out some :)

It's very simple really - I combined two of the images from the stamp set to make it look like the mouse is getting ready to let go of the branch and bounce off hedgehog's tummy ♥  It's colored with Copics. After coloring the sky, I wet down an old cloth with Blender solution and held it against the blue for a couple seconds. This created miniature dots all over the place but you can't see it in this picture. Penny Black always has some very cute critters as well as gorgeous flowers. Get yours out and join in the challenge!!!

Stamp Set: "Tiny Wishes" by Penny Black
(I also used the sunflowers from Autumn Blessings by GKD & Theresa Momber stamped in VersaMark on the white base, in color inside and on the envelope)

Hot Air Balloon Bunneh

Aloha!!

Hot, hot, hot! Let's just say it's still hot here, in the 90s inside the house. With the ac on, it's 87 in our bedroom. I guess it takes the worst edge off. The humidity is really hard to deal with. Okeedokee, here is the card!

I have not played in a Cat's Pajama's challenge in well, I can't remember when :/ So I just HAD to! The current Challenge is to use Use Three or More Pattern Papers!

To use 3 pattern papers, I paper pieced! Two of the polka dot color papers are on the balloon, and the background is the 3rd paper. Yes, I actually cut all those little narrow strips and adhered them to the card lol!!!! I simply shaded the balloons and bunneh with Copic markers.Since I cut the balloon twice, I just went ahead and made two cards, both going to some children we know :)

I outlined all the pieces, added back the balloon ties, package ties, and bunneh's whiskers with a Memento black marker! The mini packages used as weights are colored with Sakura metallic gel pens.

Stamp Set: TCP "Away We Go!"
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black ink & marker, and Copic Markers, Sakura Metallic Gel Pens

Embossing Folder: "Polka Dots" by Lifestyle Crafts

Island Dreams

Aloha!

It is the beginning of a new week, and the year continues to fly by!

When the stamp set "My Island" was released from Gina K. Designs, my heart immediately swooned! No matter where we live, I will always be an ocean girl. The majestic mountains with snow, the green lush valleys with meadows and deer, the swaying golden crops in the autumn sun - everywhere in each season touches my heart. But the ocean always calls to me, and me to it.

This is a thank you card for a dear friend who sweat side by side working on our kitchen with Bruce on a very hot and humid day. We are grateful for so many friends!

For the Make a Scene Challenge at StampTV hosted by Susie!

New Baby Bird

Aloha friends!

Our nephew and his wife are having their second child this winter. Heh, heh, heh -- let the fun begin! Because the more the merrier and they won't sleep a full night for the next 20 years! They don't think that's funny nyuk nyuk nyuk! I think they should have 3 more :)

I also tried to go as CAS as possible, for me. It's for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - CAS

Call me crazy. For an unknown reason I cut the leaves out of some scrap pattern paper, added color and glued each one to the hand cut branch. Probably would be more CAS if the leaves were not added. But it's still CAS for moi.

Stamp Set: Simon Says Stamp "We're Expecting" with matching dies "Mommy Bird"
Cardstock: Ivory 120# Pure Luxury GKD; Neenah Solar White 80#, AC brown (branch)
Ink: VersaFine Black and Memento Back
Copic Markers
Clear Scraps "Spiral" Stencil with Memento Summer Sky ink sponged over
Glossy Accents (over the egg & the birdies' eyes)
Twine (for the nest)

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Aloha friends!

My posts are getting more sporadic as our lives get more unpredictable with not knowing when we are moving, all the sorting and throwing stuff out, and so on. But the last box I want to pack is the coloring supplies lol.

I'm Back

Sort of :)

Aloha! How is your world? Ours is stressful with a chance of more tension. But we are kicking and moving forward.

Paper Smooches is having an Anything GOES! challenge for September. I made a thank you card for one of many friends and family that are helping us out with remodeling this house and looking for a home on the mainland (we are going back to Oregon). This process is going to take a while and I'm going to need to make a bunch of thank you cards!!! Where would any of us be without friends!?! I am doing a little bit of coloring here and there, trying to find some moments of tranquility. I hope your weekend is productive, serene, and filled with happiness!
